Overview

This privacy policy covers the website clockx-app.github.io — an informational site about the ClockX desktop clock application. This site is not affiliated with Bohdan Rylko or clocx.net.

We collect minimal data. Analytics are loaded only with your explicit consent. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Short version: We use optional Google Analytics with your consent. We have affiliate download links. The ClockX application itself collects no data.

Cookies & analytics

This website uses the following storage mechanisms:

  • Consent key (cx_consent in localStorage): stores your cookie preference — 1 (accepted) or 0 (declined). No expiry, stored locally in your browser.
  • Google Analytics 4 (loaded only if you accept): may set _ga and _ga_* cookies to collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views, session duration and browser type. Measurement ID: G-DDBED4D1DJ. GA4 data is processed by Google LLC under their privacy policy.

No analytics are loaded until you click Accept in the cookie banner. If you click Decline, only the consent preference key is stored — no tracking scripts are loaded.

What data we collect

When Google Analytics is active (with consent), it may collect:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring URL (how you arrived at the site)
  • Browser type, device type, operating system
  • Country-level location (not city or street level)
  • Events such as download button clicks

This data is aggregated and anonymous. We cannot identify individual visitors. We use it only to understand which pages are useful and how the site performs.

We do not collect: names, email addresses, IP addresses (GA4 anonymizes IPs by default), or payment information. This site has no login system, no forms and no user accounts.

Data retention

GA4 data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted from Google's servers. The consent preference stored in your browser's localStorage persists until you clear browser data or withdraw consent on this page.

Affiliate disclosure

Some download links on this website may be affiliate or partner links. This means we may receive a small commission if you download software through those links — at no extra cost to you.

The ClockX application is always free. The official installer is always available at no cost directly from clocx.net. Affiliate links are used as an alternative download gateway and do not change the file you receive.

We aim to be transparent: wherever affiliate links are used, we note this in the page footer as "Download links may be partner links."

Safety & download integrity

This site links to the official ClockX installer hosted at clocx.net — the original source maintained by the developer. We do not modify, repackage or bundle any software.

  • We do not add adware, toolbars or any modifications to installers
  • We do not host the installer file ourselves — links point to clocx.net or our download gateway which redirects to the official source
  • If you are concerned about file integrity, you can download directly from clocx.net/download.php and verify the file with VirusTotal

Your rights

Since we collect minimal personal data and only with consent, your main options are:

  • Withdraw analytics consent at any time using the button above — this stops future GA4 data collection
  • Clear browser data to remove the consent preference and all GA cookies
  • Use browser extensions such as uBlock Origin to block GA tracking independently
  • Opt out of Google Analytics globally via the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on
